Ran 2 of the last 3 days scheduled. Tuesday's trip was a pull your hair out kinda morning for me. Our first 3 spots we anchored on produced only 1 keeper and a few shorts. Finally the fourth spot started to produce results, but the ripping current we had also started to slack up. Pulled 9 more keepers off that spot before the slow chew shut down. By this time it was 2 in the afternoon, and we were 22 miles from home. Told the guys it was going to be a late day, and we would try 1 more spot. Last spot produced 6 more keepers and some shorts. Guys ended the day with 16 keeper, and not back to the dock till 5.
Yesterday we fished a little deeper. Our first spot had a instant chew. Skip had two 8 pounders back to back, Jhonny had a 11 and 10 pounder, I managed a 12 pounder that I released, and Chris had a 14 pounder that he released. Had a few more nice keepers, and then the North current started ripping. Fished 4 more spots over the course of the day with a few more fish. Another late day, and back in the slip with 17 keepers, and 2 nice releases.
Starting to see the water temp drop, and the fishing is getting harder. Don't think it's done yet but it is definitely going to be challenging.
