Weathermans forecast of 5-10 was not. Broke the inlet and new instantly it was more like 15-20 north east. With cold morning temps it didn't take long to start building ice. Wanted to get the guys a little deeper, but with the weather it forced us to stay closer to the beach. First few spots in shore we had just 6 keepers, and a few shorts by 11 a it was starting to warm up and the wind was backing off. So I headed off so we could get into some deeper water. Anchored up and had some fish right away. Grizz had the first one a nice 10 pounder, then John showed everyone up with a monster 17 pounder that he released. Had a few more keepers before the bite slowed. Fished a few more spots for a total of 6 spots for the day. We never had a super good chew on any of them but the guys managed their limit of 20 fish and 1 for the boat. Big fish tally was a 10 pounder for capt, 10 pounder for Grizz, 11.8 pounder for Mike released, and John's 17 pounder released. Good day with a rough start.
